3rd Rock from the Sun is a 30-minute American sci-fi comedy television series aired on NBC from 1996 until 2001 starring John Lithgow as Dick, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tommy, Kristen Johnston as Sally, French Stewart as Harry and Jane Curtin as Mary. The series is about the four extraterrestrials who are on expedition on Earth to study the human way of life. They disguised in human form so that they can't be noticed. They always got into trouble because of their lack of human emotions. But as the time passes by, they start to develop human-like emotions. The aliens acted as a family consisting of Dick Solomon, the High Commander and the provider of the family who took a position as physics professor at Pendelton State. Tommy is the information officer of their expedition who got the body of a teenager and forced to enrol in a high school. The family usually communicates with their boss Big Giant Head. The series won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
