Jem or also known as Jem and the Holograms is an animated television show in the United States produced by Hasbro, Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions. It was created by Christy Marx. The Japanese animation studio Toie Doga is responsible for the animation of the series. The show was aired from 1985 to 1988. It is about a mysterious lead singer of a rock group called “Jem and the Holograms” who runs the Starlight company after her music executive mother died. Jem is also known as Jerrica Benton. She tries to keep her two identities separate to protect the company. Jem is using a holographic computer, the Synergy which was created by his father. The band consists of her younger sister, Kimber Benton; Aja Leith, the guitarist and Shana Elmsford, the drummer. Eric Raymond is Jerrica's rival who tries to control the Starlight company. Jem and the Holograms is one of the best 80's cartoons.
