Stories of the Century debuted on the 1st of January 1954 and ends on the 1st of March 1955. This fictitious Southwestern television movie was directed by Joseph Kane and role by Jim Davies as the railroad detective named Matt Clark and joined by Mary Castle as Frankie Adams and later by Kristine Miller as Margaret Jones. The series shows a male and female duo as leads making it intriguing and fun. Each episode also featured the life of Western Desperado such as Jeese James, Butch Cassidy and Belle Starr. Jesse and Butch track down bandits preying on the railroad. Some young actors appeared as guest stars including Richard Jaeckal, Stuart Whitman and Fess Parker. In 1955, Story of the Century is the first western to win an Emmy Award in the category of “Western or Adventure Series”. |
