The Rifleman is a Western American television series ran on ABC from September 30, 1958 to April 8, 1963 for a total of 168 episodes and produced by Four Star Television. It is a black and white TV show starring Chuck Connors as widower and single dad Lucas McCain and Johnny Crawford as his son Mark McCain. They live in a ranch outside the town of North Fork, New Mexico Territory. Lucas helps the North Fork Marshall protect the town from the so-called “bad guys” by using his Winchester Rifle. Joseph H. Lewis, the director of the classic film Gun Crazy in 1950 is the director of the fifty episodes of the show. Ida Lupino is the director of the episode The Assault. |
